Abstract
In Russia, diseases of the circulatory system occupy leading positions in the structure of mortality, and stroke occupies the 2nd place, "skipping ahead" only myocardial infarction. The consequences of ischemic stroke (AI) are catastrophic – only 13-16% of patients recover completely and can return to their previous lifestyle, while the majority acquire permanent disability or die. However, there are methods of secondary prevention with which most strokes can be prevented.
Key words: ischemic stroke, secondary prevention, acetylsalicylic acid, cardiovascular mortality.
