Abstract

The authors describe a clinical case of the transformation of flat leukoplakia into verrucous form in a patient after a new coronavirus infection. The results of clinical and histological examination are presented. The ineffectiveness of conservative treatment suggests the need for surgical treatment. Strict observation and monitoring of patients with verrucous leukoplakia should be mandatory even after surgical treatment, since they have a high recurrence rate and malignant transformation.
Key words: novel coronavirus infection, COVID-19, leukoplakia flat, leukoplakia verrucous, diagnosis, treatment tactics.
