Abstract
Over the past decades, there have been great advances in the understanding of serous borderline tumors of the ovary. Although most serous borderline tumors have a favorable outcome, recurrence and progression to carcinoma are possible. Serous borderline tumor of the ovaries is the most common among all borderline tumors. They are an intermediate group between benign and malignant formations. Most often, serous borderline tumors have a favorable outcome, but there are also cases of relapse and progression to malignancy. In this review, we will try to clarify what a serous borderline tumor is.
Key words: serous borderline ovarian tumor, classification, diagnosis, survival
