Abstract
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic autoimmune disorder that manifests itself in progressive neurodegeneration causing a broad spectrum of cognitive deficits in the patients. Cognitive impairment being an essential component of the clinical picture of the disease come in a variety of manifestations and significantly lower the MS patients’ quality of life. This paper reports contemporary views on the prevalence and pathogenesis of cognitive impairment; the data of original studies involving patients with multiple sclerosis are provided.
