Abstract

Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) occupies the 10th place in the structure of the incidence of malignant neoplasms and in terms of growth is second only to prostate cancer. The incidence of RCC reaches a maximum by the age of 70. Men suffer from this pathology twice as often as women. In the structure of mortality of the Russian population from oncological diseases, the RCC among men is 2.7%, among women – 2.1%. Today the surgical approach in the treatment of RCC remains one of the most effective treatment methods. A detailed knowledge of the norms, variants and anomalies of the structure of the vessels of the abdominal and retroperitoneal space is of fundamental importance when planning surgical treatment. This article describes a clinical case of doubling of the inferior vena cava in a patient with RCC.
Keywords: anomalies (double) inferior vena cava, vascular aberrations, renal cell carcinoma, laparoscopic approach.
