Abstract

Herpetic anterior uveitis is mainly considered as acute unilateral anterior uveitis with non-granulomatous, granulomatous, or stellate keratic precipitates, which is associated with iris atrophy, decreased corneal sensation, and an acute rise in the intraocular pressure. The diagnosis of herpetic anterior uveitis usually is based on clinical findings. We presented several clinical cases with atypical manifestations. Our study aims to understand the role of the complement system’s C3 and C4 fractions in the pathogenesis of herpetic anterior uveitis.
Keywords: herpetic anterior uveitis, complement system, C3 and C4 fractions.
