Abstract

A rare clinical case of aggressive dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans with distant pulmonary metastases is presented. The disease was characterized by locally destructive growth and an atypical radiological appearance, complicating timely diagnosis. Emphasis is placed on the role of imaging modalities – MRI and CT – in detecting local recurrence and monitoring disease progression. Repeated imaging studies revealed ongoing tumor activity even in the absence of clinical symptoms. This case highlights the need for long-term and thorough radiological surveillance after surgery and demonstrates the value of imaging techniques in assessing tumor aggressiveness.
Keywords: dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans, soft tissue sarcoma, pulmonary metastases, magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, differential diagnosis, radiological follow-up.
