Abstract
The paper prepared based on the presentation by Alexey V. Zilov, Cand. Sci (Med.), associate professor of the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolic Health at the Sklifosovsky Institute of Clinical Medicine of the Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, is focused on the pressing issues of the advanced carbohydrate metabolism control in patients with type 1 and 2 diabetes mellitus. The paper considers the glycemic control technology evolution, discusses the Time in Range concept as a modern indicator of diabetes mellitus compensation, glucose meter accuracy standards, the importance of the structured self-monitoring of blood glucose, as well as the clinical efficacy of glucose meter integration with mobile applications. The data of the ASPIRE, CLOUDS, and REALL clinical trials are provided, along with the results of the domestic observational study involving the use of the Contour Plus One glucose meter in combination with the Contour Diabetes application.
