Abstract

Chronic heart failure (CHF) is one of the most urgent medical and social problems in the 21st century. Its prevalence is constantly increasing, acquiring the scale of a modern epidemic. This problem is interdisciplinary in nature and requires an integrated approach to its solution. One of the concomitant diseases in CHF is anemia, which exacerbates hemodynamic disorders and has a negative impact on the prognosis for patients. Understanding the mechanisms of anemia syndrome development in patients with CHF is of key importance for developing an optimal treatment strategy. This review examines the pathogenetic aspects of anemia formation in patients with CHF and possible methods of its drug correction. Google Scholar, PubMed, and eLibrary databases were used to search for scientific literature. The terms "chronic heart failure", "anemia", "iron carboxymaltose" and "cardiorenal anemia syndrome" were chosen as keywords. The review included full-text scientific articles and literature reviews directly related to the topic of anemia in patients with CHF. Materials that did not meet the established research criteria were excluded from the analysis.
Keywords: chronic heart failure, anemia, iron carboxymaltose, cardiorenal anemia syndrome.
