Abstract

Radiation dermatitis is one of the most common complications of radiation therapy for malignant neoplasms. The incidence of moderate and severe skin radiation reactions reaches 95%. This complication significantly impairs the quality of life and requires prevention, timely diagnosis, and treatment. Currently, there is no unified standard for the treatment of acute radiation skin toxicity. The presented clinical case of treating dermatitis after a repeated course of radiation therapy in a patient with breast cancer demonstrates an approach to correcting radiation reactions in a specific medical institution based on many years of experience in treating local radiation injuries of various locations.
Keywords: radiation dermatitis, breast cancer, repeated course of remote radiation therapy, prednisolone.
